A shooting takes innocent lives? Pray. Hurricane wrecks a city? Pray. Molester scores another kid? Pray. Something bad happens? Pray.

It's a popular and widely accepted excuse to pretend you're doing something. It's a shallow opt-out for people who want to 'show' they're somehow helping.
They're not. Prayer never helps.

It doesn't bring back the dead. It doesn't stitch wounds.
It doesn't face the reality of the situation. It doesn't donate
to relief funds. It doesn't end the violence. It doesn't stop the disasters.

Prayer is an excuse to sit on your ass doing nothing.

If you really want to help. Donate. Money. Blood.
Volunteer time. In the United States join a PAL team.
Become a Big Brother or Big Sister. Join a town watch
or community outreach program.
Help out at a soup kitchen or a food bank.

Do something, anything. But choose to do something real.
Stop being lazy.
